Another important difference is that Crusader HD's AI more or less plays with the same rules you do, whereas Crusader 2's AI cheats up the wazoo and is periodically given free resources, even if you have them completely surrounded. Subjectively, Crusader HD's nice 2d graphics are better than Crusader 2's blocky, jagged looking models, and the first game's engine just feels nicer.

Stronghold crusader 2 units plus#
Crusader 2 has: 8 AIs, plus another 8 DLC AIs. Just from looking at the numbers you get way more playtime out of Crusader HD, for a much lower price. More buildings and defenses compared to Crusader 2 (Walls, Towers, Moats, etc) Way more pre-made maps than in Crusader 2, plus hundreds more you can download from places like Stronghold Heaven. Still has a number of bugs like the AI just building shit in your castle whenever it feels like it Put yourself at the front lines of the war, manage the economy, and finish your opponents with shots. Stronghold Crusader adds a very engaging tactical element to mechanics that are similar to that of Age of Empires, in that one must develop ones own castle. Way more pre-made maps than in Crusader 2, plus hundreds more you can download from places like Stronghold HeavenĢ5 Skirmish Trail missions, plus three or four mission packs that come with each DLCĢ learning campaigns that aren't really based on any historical battles or siegesĪround ten games in the server browser at the time of writing thisĤ or 5 new units that weren't in Crusader HD Stronghold Crusader II is the continuation of the excellent strategy game from 2002. So i am wondering if anyone does have a big table of them lying.

Multiplayer with Gameranger still has around two dozen or more games in the server browser at the time of writing this
